The successful candidate will join a team of highly trained, multi-skilled craftsman that perform tasks in a wide range of mechanical disciplines. We are a highly regulated company that has success by doing the job correctly the first time. The facility rests on 320 acres and over 25 building that contain a wide range of mechanical equipment. This position will be primarily focused on supporting the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC/R) systems. While cross training / support is an expectation of the role, the primary focus of the role includes maintenance activities associated with air handling equipment, freezers, coolers (walk-in and reach-in), ultra-low (cascade) freezers, filtration, chillers, refrigeration equipment, circulation pumps, and chemical treatment for cooling towers, piping systems, air flows / room to room pressure differentials and other related building systems.
Please note the available shift is Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Exhibit HVAC preferred skills and abilities: Lyophilization systems experience, ultra-low freezer experience, walk-in freezer and cooler experience, air balance experience, electrical – electronic controls experience, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, HVAC planned maintenance experience, and good documentation skills.
Furnish a complete set of hand tools.
Perform basic shop math and practical shop calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Provide basic measurements and measuring tools in either metric and/or US standard systems.
Implement metal work, sawing, welding, and grinding.
Knowledgeable of basic AC/DC electricity and electronics, including 3-phase voltage systems.
Independently perform methods of measuring current, voltage, resistance, simple OHMS law calculations, and reading both electrical and mechanical schematics.
Proceed independently without direct supervision.
Use a computer to keep accurate and complete records, meeting cGMP documentation practices.
Demonstrate an understanding of mechanical systems to allow effective and efficient troubleshooting.
May be subject to and pass regular checks as required, such as DEA background checks.
Perform jobs of the lower grades as required.
Follow OSHA standards and lockout tag out procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum two (2) year degree in HVAC or relevant work experience.
Meet the physical requirements of the job (Walking, bending, lifting, confined space entry, etc…)
Demonstrated ability to effectively convey information in an appropriate and effective manner.
Ability to effectively lead, resolve conflict and function as a shift foreman.
Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages.
Demonstrated analytical/problem solving skills – identify problems, recognize symptoms, causes, and alternative solution.
Knowledge and skill to recognize creative ideas that add value and are able to be implemented to improve efficiency, effectiveness and reduce complexity.
Demonstrated understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and processes
Demonstrated ability to set-up and troubleshoot HVAC equipment as required
Experience and efficient operation / manipulation of electronic systems such as Windows Operating Systems, CMMS, and other maintenance operating systems.
Effective and efficient organizing, time management and multitasking skills.
Proficient reading, comprehension and application skills toward a diverse set of complicated tasks.
The ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Preferences:
Universal Refrigeration License.
Understanding of Refrigerant Compliance rules.
In depth understanding of industrial HVAC systems such as Ultra-Low freezers, large scale chiller/chiller loop systems, LN2 Freezers, and walk in coolers / freezers.
