DarkVision is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Imaging & AI team. You will design, build, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that powers our cutting-edge research and high-scale production workloads. You will be the architect of the platform that enables our diverse technical teams to operate efficiently.

DarkVision’s ultrasound imaging system collects huge datasets on the order of terabytes, detecting sub-millimetric defects in industrial assets that span hundreds of kilometers. Processing this data reliably requires a rock-solid foundation. You will focus on creating the scalable compute environments, storage systems, and automation pipelines that allow our machine learning models and signal processing algorithms to run at scale.

Our Team

Working in the Imaging & AI team, you will join a multidisciplinary group of PhDs, engineers, and research scientists. This team is responsible for early-stage ideation, research, experimentation, and development. You will collaborate closely with Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to ensure our infrastructure meets the evolving needs of our technology stack.

What You Will Do

• Cloud Architecture & Maintenance: Architect and manage robust cloud infrastructure on AWS to support both research experimentation and heavy production batch processing.
• Cluster Management: Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters, utilizing tools like Helm and Karpenter to ensure efficient orchestration of containerized workloads.
• DevOps & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release management processes. You will drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to accelerate the research-to-production lifecycle.
• Reliability & Observability: Proactively enhance system tools to achieve excellence in reliability, security, and observability. You will ensure our systems remain performant and secure under heavy load.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, MLOps, or Software Engineering role.
• Experience developing and managing Cloud Infrastructure on AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS).
• Hands-on experience administering Kubernetes and related tools (e.g., Helm, Karpenter, Traefik).
• Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with Linux/Shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of system design patterns for data-intensive, large-scale workloads.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience shipping complex software products and supporting them in production.
• Familiarity with data science tools and libraries (e.g., Prefect, NumPy, Pandas).
• Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data pipeline governance.
• Experience managing hybrid or on-premise infrastructure.
• Outstanding technical communication skills to bridge the gap between software engineering and ML research.

General Salary Range

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 to $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
