The Field System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and security of the desktop, server, telecommunication, and network hardware and software infrastructure located at Goodwill Great Lakes. The individual is the primary technical liaison between Goodwill and the customer and is responsible for understanding computing needs and delivering the necessary technology infrastructure support on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and information systems administration. Implements, revises, and sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 3 – 12 months.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Responsible for the effective engineering and provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and physical security of desktops, laptops, credit card terminals, mobile technology (iPhone/iPad), telecommunications, software and infrastructure technology to support those needs including the maintaining all necessary documentation and development of standard operating procedures. 60%
2. Perform daily support and guidance to ensure systems performance and standards which includes; system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, systems and key processes, reviewing system, application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled maintenance task. 30%
3. Preform operation infrastructure maintenance in accordance within industry standards and PCI compliance; OS patches, administrative tools and utilities, etc. 10%
4. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
5. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data and resolve issues.

7. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill’s community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
8. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
2. Thorough knowledge of PC environment, mobile technologies, and device management interfaces.
3. Strong understating of Windows server products (OS, Exchange, Active Directory, etc.).
4. Strong understanding of network concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, routing, and switching).
