We are recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a hybrid position working in our Farmington Hills office on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s and remote the remainder of the week.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of financial analysis related activities that help support operational objectives. Supports leadership and operations with financial analysis, projections, benchmarking and reporting. Supports other financial planning and analysis functions which includes special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with company forecast and budget processes including, but not limited to, budget system administration, coordinating with other departments, and providing support to internal customers.
Assist with Partners for Success® and agency compensation processes.
Analyze company performance and industry benchmark data to understand market competitiveness.
Provide value-added analysis, insight, and financial reporting on the company’s products/lines of business.
Prepare financial modeling, ROI calculations, and pro forma financial projections in support of corporate and departmental initiatives.
Creates presentations and other materials to be used in Board Meetings, Officer Meetings, Corporate Planning, and other key meetings.
Responsible for journal entries and uploads to/from budget system and general ledger.
Creates new reports/dashboards to enhance monthly/quarterly reporting packages.
Assist in process improvement and other functions within financial planning and analysis including creating and updating process documentation.
Assist with special projects or requests to provide analysis and support.
Maintenance of various FP&A tools/reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
2 years of experience in accounting, finance or analyst role preferred.
Experience in a financial analysis role within the insurance industry preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
