Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cybersecurity Intern to join our team for a 4-month internship. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity, working alongside a talented and experienced team.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside, North Vancouver.
What you’ll do
Work closely with the Technical Lead, Power App Developers, Business/Systems Analyst to support the Shipyards End Users in the use of Microsoft Power Platform applications (Power Apps and Power Automate)
Actively contribute across all phases of the software development life cycle.
Perform evaluations of end user adoption, work with end users to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure compliance to relevant usage policies, standards and governance frameworks.
Support the Power Platform team in the delivery of Microsoft Power Platform solutions to our Shipyards End Users.
Assist with the creation of technical documentation as it pertains to the Power Platform solutions deployed across our Shipyards.
What you’ll bring
Enrollment in 3rd or 4th year of a relevant undergraduate degree program in the field of Computer Science, Engineering or Business.
Must be able to secure a Canadian Government (CISD) Personal Security Clearance.
Ability to communicate optimally and efficiently, both in writing and in person.
Excellent digital literacy including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
Understanding or experience with DevOps and Jira would be an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
Proven initiative, creativity, and integrity.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Good judgment and reasoning skills.
