Call coverage with on-site availability within such time periods determined by Nemours.
Anesthesia services to all obstetrical patients admitted to the delivery unit at Hospital in a professional and competent manner in accordance with the standard of care, and in accordance with a standard that is acceptable under the applicable Governing Policies of Nemours, legal and accreditation requirements, and other applicable professional standards and regardless of a patient’s insurance status or ability to pay.
During an obstetrical patient’s admission to Hospital, Physician shall be available as follows:
Once admission occurs, present on site at Hospital twenty-four hours per day through post-partum recovery (defined as a minimum of two hours post vaginal delivery and four hours post Cesarean section, in the absence of complications or medical instability); and
For the first twenty-four hours after the recovery period noted above at 3.a., available by telephone and available to respond onsite within 30 minutes. Subsequently, available by telephone and available to respond onsite if medically indicated through obstetrical patient’s discharge from Hospital.
Physicians shall: (a) periodically assess and address equipment needs, pharmacy and laboratory concerns, and the general physical plant of the delivery unit; (b) work with Nemours services to ensure compliance with supply and equipment standards; and (c) be available and coordinate for The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory surveys.
Physician will diligently work to expand Physician’s Specialty medical practice.
Physician will perform, review and/or interpret thoseprocedures, studies and other services consistent with Physician’s training and Medical Staff privileges at NCHD and as otherwise required by Physician’s duties hereunder.
Physician shall bill in accordance with Nemours policy.
Physician will cooperate with Nemours in the day-to-day operations of the department, including coordination with the central billing function, ordering of supplies, production and organization of records and other duties as necessary to assure the efficient operation of the department.
Physician shall exercise Physician’s best efforts to assist Nemours with performance improvement and other initiatives to promote, develop and maintain the department, achieve patient satisfaction and growth and in connection therein shall participate in networking, community education, and other reasonable marketing activities as requested by Nemours and in accordance with Nemours policies and procedures.
Physician shall assist Nemours in the investigation, documentation, and resolution of any issues related to peer review, licensing, accreditation or any other regulatory agencies relating to Physician’s duties in the provision of obstetric services within Nemours.
Physician will assist Nemours in the recruitment of additional professional staff members and development of procedures and measures for quality management.
Physician will attend meetings that are reasonably scheduled by Nemours.
Physician shall follow the applicable clinical and non-clinical Quality and Safety system practices, parameters, standards, and guidelines outlined by Nemours.
Physician shall participate in initial and ongoing simulation drills to ensure safe patient care.
