Nemours is seeking a Perioperative Services Supply Chain & Logistics Technician to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team . Full-time benefits (health, dental, vision, PTO, tuition reimbursement, etc…) are included.
The Perioperative Services Supply Chain & Logistics Technician provides technical and supportive functions with regard to surgical equipment and supplies within the operating room that positively impact safety, quality, and efficiency of daily operations, and supports positive patient outcomes.
This primary position at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, will include collaboration with the Nemours Children’s Health Surgery Center, Bryn Mawr, PA and the Nemours Children’s Health Surgery Center, Deptford, NJ to optimize available resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This position may require periodic rotation to the ambulatory surgery centers. Travel is compensated based on organizational policy.
This position requires current Pennsylvania Clearances to include FBI Fingerprint Report, PA Criminal Background Record, & PA Child Abuse Clearance.
This position requires working shifts aligned with the needs of the department. This position also includes on-call and holiday requirements based on the needs of the department.
Essential Function
Maintains adequate inventory of all required equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels.
Prepares surgical equipment and supplies for daily departmental activities to include logistical and technical support for laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures.
Demonstrates competence regarding the functionality and connectivity of all minimally invasive equipment and video components to include configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining functionality before, during and after surgical procedures to quickly resolve issues.
Demonstrates the ability to interact with physicians and other perioperative team members as requested to ensure all intraoperative preferences are met.
Maintains clean and safe work environment for all healthcare providers in the Surgical Suite.
Maintains equipment records and logs that require documentation as indicated.
Responsible for transporting specimens and lab requests to the appropriate locations.
Responsible for replacement of Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, and Helium cylinders to their respective equipment/locations.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of aseptic technique principles and Universal Precautions with appropriate use of PPE.
Responsible for stocking warming cabinets for fluids and blankets.
Monitors the Equipment Room to maintain organization and ensure that equipment is returned to their designated area after patient use and appropriate disinfection.
Responsible for retrieving surgical supplies/equipment as requested.
Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
American Heart Association BLS required
High School Diploma or equivilent required
One year or more experience
