POSITION TITLE: Account Executive – Feed Companies

Role overview

Role within the North American Channel and Distribution team with responsibility specific to the Food Animal only distributor and feed mill partners for Elanco Animal Health. The purpose of the position is to plan, implement and execute all marketing and sales initiatives with a strategic business partner. The employee will play an important role in the overall planning and execution with our Feed Mill Accounts within the Food Animal Business at Elanco.

Day to day responsibilities

• Account owners work directly the accounts Presidents, Marketing, Technical, Sales Managers, and Procurement to create a partnership between Elanco and Feed Mill Accounts to drive business for both Companies.
• Align the long term strategic goals of the customer and Elanco
• Recognizing and shaping profitable opportunities between the customer and Elanco
• Responsible for planning, executing and tracking all marketing funds promotional allowances earned.
• Role should serve as a “model” for all account leads. Drive accountability for the execution of regional and local projects being managed by their respective Elanco and partner representatives.

Required skills, experience and education

Education: Bachelor’s Degree. 5 years’ experience in food animal or agri-science sales or sales management in the Animal Health industry.

Skills:

• Min. of 5 years working in sales with/for Livestock Feed Companies.
• In depth knowledge of Strategic Account Management
• In-depth knowledge of products across food animal species.
• In-depth knowledge of the Food Animal Market and products available
• Ability to influence without authority
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to convey messages and motivate various audiences.
• Ability to make decisions within the context of uncertainty and ambiguity
• Strategic thinking
• Strong Planning and Executional Skills

• Travel required 50 to 75%

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $99,100.00 $165,100.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
