The purpose of the Sr. Merchandise Payables Analyst – Regulated Beverages position is to:
provide precise accounting for regulated beverage suppliers (beer, wine and liquor) through negotiation, audit, approval and verification of various supporting documents which also includes ensuring Publix receives all deals/discounts due (like quantity deals)
be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) by providing consulting for all stores and warehouses on the state laws and processes for regulated beverages (ensure that Publix does not lose their regulated beverage licenses)
prepare General Ledger (GL) account analysis, miscellaneous reporting, and project involvement for all regulated beverage
provide reconciliation of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to the General Ledger (GL) for all regulated beverages
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with no relevant business experience OR
Associate’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least 4 years relevant business experience OR
High School Diploma or its equivalent with at least 6 years relevant business experience
In-depth knowledge of various regulated beverages and the detailed processes that go along with each component
Knowledge of analytical techniques

Knowledge of Accounting principles, general business practices and financial statements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline with 2 years of relevant business experience.
3 years Merchandise/DSD Payables experience
5 years of experience as a DSD Receiver
Knowledge of QIP improvement methodology
Publix systems skills, including SAP, WIMS (Warehouse Management System), DIMS (DSD Invoice Management System), Fintech (3rd party that processes most of our regulated beverage payments), PIMS (Product Information System), Marwood, DSD Reconciliation system, Vendor Portal, ChainTrack, QD (Quantity Deal) database
Knowledge of the regulated beverage laws for each state in which Publix operates (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee)
Knowledge of SOX requirements and controls relating to Merchandise/DSD Payables
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
