Summary:
The Senior Program Officer assists in strategically developing, managing and evaluating a portfolio of grants and initiatives aligning to MHM goals. The Senior Program Officer assists/advises nonprofit organizations through the entire application and reporting process, from concept development through evaluation results. He/she is expected to develop and maintain a variety of relationships in the community, including regional funders, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Salary:
Annual salary rate begins at $62,339.00. Mid range at $77,923.00. Actual starting rate will be commensurate with experience and education.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required. At least 5 years’ experience in grant-making, community development, community engagement and/or related fields preferred, including 3 years managing a portfolio of grants as the employee of a funder required. Experience creating partnerships and successfully managing internal and external relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders preferred. Basic knowledge of budgets and financial statements preferred. Experience managing or serving on grant review teams is preferred.
Language Skills: Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers as well as the general public. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports, and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization (diverse audiences). Must be fluent in English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Mathematical Skills:
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and statistics. Strong data visualization/presentation skills preferred
Reasoning Ability:
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of instructions written, oral, diagrams or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Adept at Microsoft Office Suite with high level skills in PowerPoint and data visualization. Skill in utilizing a database to store, sort, and extract user-friendly data to support a grantmaking endeavor. High level of competence with a grant management database such as Blackbaud GIFTS Online preferred.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to community partner sites, MHM clinic and program sites, convenings, and conferences
